I would have to say the current Nord Modular is a "super" version. There are
very few limitations, and a greater variety of modules (after several OS
updates) than just about any real modular. However being under $$$
restraints I would think the "mini" version would still be appealing because
it can integrate into a real modular. If you want additive synthesis, or 10
more oscillators, or external processing of sounds through filters, phase
shifters, comb filters or what have you, it will add that to the MOTM quite
nicely, and for only about the cost of a couple of MOTM oscillator kits. I
see a lot of people ask for rather impractical things to be done in the
analog domain, when they are so easily and cheaply done in the digital domain
and available now.

larry ( and crow ),
i had on of the paia units that the original inspiration was derived from as
part of my old 8700 micro, kybd, quash setup. mine was rigged to be able to
work with the random composition program, pink tunes and to be able to set
env. values instead of entering them on the keypad for the software envelope
generators.
for the cost involved, very low, its a worthwhile circuit to fool around
with. getting it to be "precision" would add to the cost, better resistors,
better regulated power but still shouldn`t be too bad. hopefully, crow will
let us know how it works out !

hugo,
one of my favorite "vintage" em records is by oskar sala of trautonium music.
instrument was very much ahead of its time. as for the "brand d" module, i`m
waiting for it to become available later this summer with much anticipation!
should be a strong addition to the system.
