FW: [motm] Patch Diagramming Revisited
2000-03-11 by Tkacs, Ken
I did the switches with the idea that I would be writing on patch sheets by hand with a pen. Later, I could "do them up nice" in Visio for binding, but I figured it's faster to just write on paper sheets while I'm working. So with that in mind, I was just going to circle the applicable switch position. To do it nice in Visio directly, hmmm... I mean, with Visio it would be real easy to drag a circle over the switch, or to drag a square onto it and black-out the switch position(s) not in use. I'll have to play with that and see what looks best. Maybe even just ungroup the module and delete the text from the unused switch settings. Visio is very programmable. Again, someone more clever that I can probably find a way to embed some code or an ActiveX control that would let you click on the switch and toggle the text back and forth! That's beyond me, though.

I see that I'm going to need to get a copy of Visio for my home machine in order to take advantage of your handy work. Please keep it coming! One question: I like the option of drawing a line or using a number for the know settings, what are the options for the switch settings?
