Pro-4

Just Curious,

Does anybody have the Kenton Pro-4? I found one used/mint for $450 and have
decided to get instead of a new Pro-2000. Good decision? The "Polyphonic
mode" is a real turn on to the dreamer in me.

1) Hell, *I'd* buy one for that!! (below my cost!!)

2) The Pro-4 and the Encore Expressionist have Larry's desired operating
mode for
Poly synths: ie. GATEs are assigned to specific *notes* within the *same*
MIDI channel.

Sadly, Kenton has told me they do not plan a sw upgrade for the Pro-2000.

So, if you want to "play" like a poly synth (OB-8, MemoryMoog, etc) the
Pro-4/Expressionist
is the route.

That's OK. It is a cool machine just as it is.

Well, for now, I will just have to use my OB-8 or JP-6 for such nonsense.
I'm not in any danger of needing a MIDI to CV controller for polyphonic
operation of my MOTM. However, add a dual VCA, and a couple of VCFs and I
could do three voice with one osc plus sub osc on each. However, with 2000
looking like the year of many new modules, I may need the pro-4 or
Expressionist by then. I know, I'll call John and see if he will be doing
any polyphonic upgrades to the firmware on my PAiA MIDI2CV8.
ROTFLMAO......
