New tracks overflowing with analog content

New tracks overflowing with analog content

2000-02-25 by David Bivins

Hey all,

I have a couple new tracks up on mp3.com - mostly analog.

http://www.mp3.com/baldbastard

Newest tracks are TVC1 and SUBOCTMUX.

TVC1 kit: Jomox XBase09 (kick, snare, hats); FR777 (buzzy pattern that
evolves into more of a bouncy acid line); TB-303 (like you won't spot it);
SP-12 (toms in background) MOTM-420 filters, EGs (filtering toms in HP then
LP mode); Zoom 1201 (touch of delay->verb).

SUBOCTMUX kit: Jomox XBase09 (hats, kick, snare); MOTM-120 (what makes the
hats sound like amplified steel wool rubbed on bricks), MOTM-420 (LP
filtering); TB-303 (rhythmic bassline); FR777 (the monosynth that is not the
303); Alesis Wedge (delay)

Long live the new analog!

Comments are welcome, though because I record everything to two tracks live,
I probably won't do a whole lot to change these particular tracks! :)

Take care,

David.

It occurred to me this might be the cause of the list being so quiet --
everybody's got a dial up service and is busy downloading Bivin's tunes. I
finally got to listen to some of your stuff Dave, good stuff (even without
VCOs). I'll try and download more as I find a few spare evenings when I don't
mind my computer being gone for a few hours <g>. I'm still amazed at the
diversity of the musical influences of the group on this list combined with
the common interest in precision VC EM instruments.

You may well laugh Dave, but this is one of the most important reasons why I
got into EM -- so I could patch up and get across the state lines as fast as
possible!

PS NPR listeners take note. Bob Moog is supposed to be the guest on the
Monday edition of Fresh Aire (an interview program).
