Maybe I'm way off base here, but this is a small mockup I drew up over my
lunch hour. 1U wide, simple controls. Let me know what you think. -Nate

I think the DB connector is much larger than what you show. Did you measure
one?

Roughly , I measured the db-25 on the back of my zip drive and tried to
guess what size it would be. Now that I look at it, It looks way to small,
maybe I scalled everything but the DB-15.

OK, this should be more acurate. I used the AMP 787201-1 DB-15 specs (makes
a big difference) maybe too much to fit onto one panel. I'll still throw it
out to the group to fuel our discussion. -Nate

I'm thinking many people would want X and Y axis offset pots as well, which
would definitely put this in the 2U wide category...

It looks pretty good to me. I would go for it. As long as there isn't a
circuit board going down by the DB-15. I don't think there would be a
crowding issue, but I'm not the mechanical engineering type. An alternative
would be to have the DB-15 on a circuit card on the rear of the module
possibly?

I don't know much about PC joysticks. Do they come in centered and
non-centered versions?

I agree with Dave on this one. Offset pots are a must.
