I've just got a 420, but I got to play with a 480 this weekend and I gotta say...the 480 doesn't even Hesitate to fight dirty!) Of course I built my 420 myself and mabe I just need to crank up the inputs a bit more to get it squealing, but I just can't see it getting as wild as the 480. ~Ti_

in the ring...
420 vs. 480
anyone out there own both filters? how do they stack up against one another? when do you opt to use the 480 over the 420 and vice versa?
Don't have input too high. Self-oscillation should be loud enough to
distort, that makes it squeal. The more input volume, the more the
responance/self oscillation is overpowered.
I have them both. I would say the 420 is more versatile timbre-wise,
the 480 can get very wild.If I had to pick one it would be the 420,
hands down.
