I'm busy packing all these orders!

And next week I'm gone Mon-Sat in DC/Boston freezing my tooshie off.

I'll pipe in with some self-promotion. I just put up some tracks at mp3.com:
http://www.mp3.com/baldbastard

In the credits for each track, I put the instruments (as best as I could
remember). Several of them use MOTM gear.

If you like anything you hear, please let me know! Hell, let me know if you
think they suck, too ;)

Best wishes,

David.

Thanks for sharing the photo Joe. I'm glad to see I am not the only one
using a big tall rack right now. Walnut cabinet still in the "thinking"
stage. Excuse my ignorance, but what is the aluminum faced modular thingy
in the middle. And, tell us about the sequencer below it. Homebrew?

I'll tell ya! A week without Stooges is like a week without sunshine (orange
sunshine to be precise). The Stooges are the glue that holds the MOTM list
together -- kinda frightening when ya think about it! Although when you see
some of our posts, you probably do think of glue.

Great picture Joe, please do tell us about the other stuff that Larry
mentioned, as well as that cute little keyboard! Very impressive looking
system. I found a bunch of 12" oak in my garage (under a bunch of boxes from
Schreiber) so I think I'm going to build a quickie oak cab with my 22U rails
(no Magic Buss) while we wait to see if Paul will offer cabinet style rails.

Hey Larry, I was by my PO Box recently and received the manual you sent,
thanks! There must have been a misunderstanding, I thought you said
Emmanuelle -- oh well.

Hey UK Paul, did you find out about those Juno 6 mods?

Soon to be back in the MOTM game!
JB

Since everyone is testing the mailing list, I might as well see if it is
accepting my email address yet. Every time I try to send a message a get
an error back. Hmmmmm......

jb and larry,
judging by the logo on the l.s.f. far side, the "silver panel" consists of
modules from the "integrator" modular synth. i think the leftmost module is a
joystick controller. i thought the blacet stuff was neat - they make a
couple of modules that i`d like to eventually add to my system. and the
m.o.t.m. stuff - wow! - quite a few modules! don`t know if i`ll ever add that
many to my system but certainly, there is room for a few! ( in fact, i`m
waiting on my first one to arrive from paul ) my current plan is to slowly
assemble a "mutt" system with bits and pieces from everywhere that i like.
best,
dave

>Hey UK Paul, did you find out about those Juno 6 mods?

hello all,
this must be the thaw after the post xmas nose to the grindstone..?
i've been negotiating with a local radio station to dispose of eight Studer
B67s and 12 Uher 4400s - so with the uhers that would be a gigantic twelve
stage stereo tape echo in the making - this had better all work out
anyway, juno six modifications:
it was almost impossible to tie the guy down to specifics, but you can
1V/Oct CV just about anything ("all the sliders") on all six voices. you
just can't control note pitch - this has to be done by upgrading the six by
adding a DCB and then using a midi/dcb interface. to cv up "around" two
voices would be "around" 100, DCB upgrades are around 100, then i'd had to
get anotther Kenton box. the guy's only done it once so it would be a send
it away job. so basically for around 100 plus shipping you'd get a midi/cv
hybrid
i'm still tempted, but it's gone down my list somewhat - way after the
Roland MC202 modular kit for 68 - which would then involve it's own 2u MOTM
panel and a rather nasty 36 way cable
oh yes and another thing - to all you lexicon vortex users:
make up a stereo to mono cable - tip connects to tip / ring not connected
stereo end in vortex pedal input / mono end in motm S&H output
select morph ab / feedback / rate - all pretty good
bang - instant marshall time modulator
there's also a way of using a gate to control the tap delay time, but
lexicon haven't got back to me yet...

cheers
paul b

The "other stuff" in my MOTM setup (sometimes referred to as the tower of power)

The silver box is a single row of analog systems modules that I picked to provide functions not yet available from MOTM. they were:

-Joystick
-Voltage Quantiser
-VC LFO <----(well, now we have the MOTM320)
-CV buffer / inverter
-Pre-amp, inverter, slew module
-Trigger generator with VC pulse shaper & VC DC level shifter
-Audio and trigger clock divider
-Sequential switch mixer, VCA (similar to ARP 1050 Mix sequencer)
-CV/Audio mixer

The sequencer is an analog systems TH48, a somewhat rare sequencer that's all analog. This is no longer manufactured, but AS does have other new sequencer modules that are similar (if you just can't wait for the motm).

Blacet modules are on top.

Below the motm's there is a moog 12 stage phaser, kenton pro 2000 and a hosa patchbay to bring the connections to the front and also, through some wiring in the back, provides multiples for the kenton outputs.

The keyboard is a Novation MM10 - a great little controller but unfortunately, also no longer manufactured.

Also, just below that are 2 MOTM 900 power supplies. I extended the outputs to power distribution boards tucked inside the rails on either side.

One and the same, my man - one and the same. I sniff only premium dead
horsie glue.
