Whipped up the panel graphics over lunch today. This is a PDF file. The font is wrong, but you will get the general idea! Dave and Charles, get busy! Paul S. [This message contained attachments]

"Bass Enhance" switch instead of mode select switch - what's the scoop on this? Does it just boost all signals below a certain frequency (Fc)? If that's the case, is Fc adjustable by an internal trimpot or anything? Looks great! You can put me down for one, Paul ... -Doug ceres@...

The pot is dual-function. With no input, the pot sets resonance. With something plugged in, the pot is an attenuator! Damn, I'm clever! > > "Bass Enhance" switch instead of mode select switch - what's the scoop on > this? Does it just boost all signals below a certain frequency (Fc)? If > that's the case, is Fc adjustable by an internal trimpot or anything? No, it is a special circuit that adds additional feedback. In lowpass filters, as res is changes, the bass falls off (negative feedback!). This is part of the "Moog sound". But the "SSM2040 sound" does *not* do this! Dave Rossum added 1 extra PNP transistor in the chip and had "bass compensation". So, in MOTM you have a choice! Paul S.

Twitchen! VC resonance AND a reversing attenuator!!!!! What more could a Barlow need (other than a car). Soon to be back in the MOTM fold! JB
