better safe than sorry

better safe than sorry

2008-04-21 by mathroutine

I have a ludicrously basic/new guy question. I connected the power
cable to the corresponding part of the module. Now I want to remove
it. But it seems a bit sticky...Im afraid if I apply too much pressure
it will snap something. Is there a method to this I'm just not getting?

Thanks in advance~

Not really, but they can be rather tight when they are new. Never
pull them by the cable. Pull back the locking tab, grab the female
connector on each side, and pull it straight off. If it doesn't
cooperate, try using a small flat-blade screwdriver or similar
implement as a pry bar between the male and female connectors,
raising one corner, then sliding over to other, so that you do not
put too much stress on the solder connections or PCB. Also, only
pull back the locking tab as much as needed, because it will break if
you try to bend it too much.
