www.synthtech.com/demo/atlas_dei.mp3 MOTM-480 on the "bass drops", MOTM-650 sequenced playing the Wendy Carlos Harmonic Series tuning table (3-note polyphonic with delays), MOTM-510 on the very high "wind chime" tinkle bits. MOTM-440 on the lead and pads. Robert plays PVC flute from Home Depot ($6.80 total cost). Paul S.

Hi all, I particularly love Robert's more "musical" pieces like this (as opposed to the glurpy sound scape stuff which is also very nice in it's own right). Can anyone recommend any albums of his (or I guess even of other peoples) that are in a similar vein to this demo piece? I think some of his older works are more like this but I'm not sure. "Electric Ladder" is a particular favorite of mine. "Calling Down the Sky" is also fantastic and along the lines of what Erik was requesting - but LIVE! I happen to like "Lithosphere" very much (with Ian Boddy). I saw him last year in a stone church in Philadelphia on a stormy
windy night with the shadows of wind-blown branches in the stained
glass windows. It was rather amazing.
And yes, the flutes are genuine Home Depot pvc pipe. ( ! )
So, I recommend Bestiary for maximum glurpiness, Electric Ladder for
maximum "musicality" (whatever that means) and Seven Veils for
maximum atmosphere (and for a great band as well). Bear in mind that
he has 20 or so CDs available and I don't have them all, so I could
be missing some gems. I think I'll go order a copy of Calling Down
the Sky now.
