Indeed, I wonder how RR organizes his MOTM when he goes on the road
(or any other person who performs live)

I have a picture of Robert's Modular on my home page (with his permission),
you can look close and figure out "how" he has his arranged. This was at the
Scottsdale "live" performance, I know in the middle left column starting at
the edge he has 4) 490 VCF's and below that a few 800EG's and
u190VCA's...and I know he had a mixer to the far left bottm row, because
during his performance you could see and hear him bringing things in and out
of the mix... tha may be due to ergonomics of live playing, his laptop was
right below that and his "physical" keyboards were to the left of that. He
has a 5' patch cord running from the top right UEG to one of the VCF's lower
middle left, so..... who know's.

I am still assembling some modules, so my personal set up is going to be
changing, and being as stubborn as I am, Mitchell's law will not apply to
me... hahaha... not to mention, the system will be rather large anyways, I
am now up to my first of 4) 20 space tall cabinets filled. currently it has
25 modules in it. The pics on my web site need to be updated to reflect
that.

All this talk of layout got me thinking about something that I'm looking for
a solution to. I want to figure out how to document a patch. I'm talking
about fairly simple patches, nothing to fancy.

My current thinking would be to have a printout of my modules and then I'd
draw in the settings and patch cords.

I seem to remember someone posting a set of graphics awhile ago but I can't
remember who or where. What I think would work for me would be the graphics
that Paul has up on the site except I'd want a white background instead of a
black one.

then click "Synth Layout" from the list on the lefthand column. even if you
use this, you can use maybe a bright red marker for the patches.... just a
thought.

I think this is what you were looking for...

Or you could capture a screen dump from this program, then use an image or
photo editing program to create a negative image.
