BTW: This model will increase the cost only $5 as opposed to $20 :)

And, it will speed SW development because all the menus are in C, and the 8051 tool set
"understands" the standard 14-pin LCD interface (you printf to it and characters appear).

I think LEDs (even if less info is presented) would look better and be more
readable at a distance.
