MOTM secret

So, where does Paul get those lockwashers for the jacks anyway? I just
ordered a bunch of Switchcraft jacks, but couldn't find a source for the
lockwashers--just as Dave's page warned me.

I buy them from a local aircraft hardware supplier. These and the flat stainless steel washers go
on the F-111 :)

Now there's a perfect opportunity to complain about the price of
MOTM...it's the washers!! :)

Then if we've got any spares we should be able to sell them back to the
government for $117.39 each, right?

Well, I guess then that I should feel lucky that my MOTM-700 kit has an
extra. :-) OTOH it's missing a flat washer.

Do you know what size the lockwashers are? I found them listed in the Mouser
catalog, but they were specified in mm and it wasn't clear whether they
meant inside diameter or outside.

This seems to be an illusive part for everyone. I have used bigger ones
from Mouser and the hardware store on my jacks. But, I would love to have
the smaller ones. Got all the magic busses and need a few. :)

I expect your supplier has some minimum. Maybe I could buy thousands and
add them to the Stooge product line so people could buy a few here and there
and I could get rich (not). :).
Care to share the contact info ??

That's a good question. I don't see any point in keeping it a secret.

I assume anyone using MOTM also uses 1/4" for diy.

That's a good idea. Also, if we knew the specs or manufacturer's part
number, we might be able to get them from another source.
