I'm wondering, will the MOTM-550 be based on PURTWEE? If so, this module will be a killer! George

PURTWEE = Pseudo-Random Tone Wheel no relation to the movie Deliverance ;) from Electronotes #104 & #106 The "heart" of the device is a Pseudo-Random Binary Sequence generator (a 24 stage shift register w/exclusive-or feedback) and the "soul" of the device is a tone wheel (a recirculating 8 stage shift register with various options for changing the sequence on the shift register). The changes are under pseudo-random control, and the user has control over the probability that a change will occur via voltage control. Yee Ha. I think Paul already tipped his hat to the Electronotes source. Thanks for the additional info George! Acronym A-Go-Go!! Perhaps someone will post these articles (with permission of course!). Has the PURTWEE ever been implemented anywhere else commercially???? Cheers! Shemp

http://electronotes.netfirms.com I have never dealt directly with Bernie myself. This is from the website: Q: Can I put up Electronotes material on my site? A: We have, at times, gotten a bad rap for supposedly not allowing people to post our material. In actual fact, we never denied material to anyone who asked and would agree to a few simple conditions which were, in essence: The material had to acknowledge the source as Electronotes and to list all the contributors accurately. The pages had to lead back to us for those interested in purchasing more. We had to see, review, and correct any material to be put up, and quite possibly, to comment on it as to updates and so on. Almost universally, people did not ask. What was most annoying were postings that seemed to deliberately (or by omission) suggest that the poster was the original source, which brought us no business (and at times, said that we were no longer in business!), and which had errors and misconceptions added in an authoritative voice. Happily, many of these offenders have gone on to "other pursuits" or perhaps the Internet has just become a place where more courtesy and integrity is expected.
