choose wisely, Grasshopper...

While I wait for my next MOTM shipments, I'm contemplating my best
choices for the latest orders. I've got the 101 and 120 built. I've
got an OMS-410 to build this weekend. I'm awaiting a 110, 2- 300's,
a 320, a 410, a 440, an 800, and an 820 (damn!-no email from Paul! Is
it my breath?...). I'm prototyping my simple touchplate controller
and playing with simple waveshaper designs(thanks to all who lent
their excellent ideas and information-this group ROCKS!!!).

Now then, what would make for a good next order? Another 800? More
oscillators (always in style)? A mixer (I certainly want an 830!)or
a 700 VC router (plenty of fun available from that thing!)? I seek
the knowledge of those who have gone before me (and who seem to get
module kits shipped to them WAY before me, too!!! Was it something I
said?...)

Thanks!

Hmmm, how about a 900? ;)

But seriously, looks like you have a nice one voice setup. I would get a
850 and a Yamaha FC-7 pedal from zzounds.com. Foot-controlled filter
frequency fun! A second 800 would definitely be warranted so you can
control Fc and amplitude separately. If you also get a second 110 and 440,
then you would have the ability to patch up two (somewhat simpler) voices.

Personally, I'm big on two 420s connected serially - like the MS20. Not for
the faint of heart!

George

The 310 is completely cool. A great oscillator on it's own and a
real jewel paired with a 300. The 700 makes for some wild fun,
too. Switching at audio rates gives nice wave mangling!

The Mixer is a must-have, too, particularly if you have a few
oscillators. Finally, don't forget the uLFO and Quad LFO, or the 490!
