Drum EPROM for Miniwave

Drum EPROM for Miniwave

2002-04-18 by inform3r

Has anyone thought of burning an EPROM full of percussion sounds for
their Miniwave? Would this work? I'm a big fan of early EPROM drum machines
(Linn/DMX, etc..) and thought it would be great to have those trashy 8-bit
percussion sounds for use in the Miniwave. Any ideas?

                cheers,
                John

hello all,
this was something that got me into looking for a cheap burner
but i realised that for most of the drum sounds, the length of the sample,
would mean it would have to be spread across several waves, with a wave
sweep cv necessary for playback

could be wrong though
even if it were the case it'd be an interesting effect

cheers

Yes, that might be interesting. The MW waves are looping 256 Byte samples
that need to be in binary format for reading by Grant's Wave256 program,
and ultimate burning. I put together and burned a eprom using PPG Wave
wavetables. Grant's Wave256 and Move256 programs are quite nice and fun to
tweak or create new waves with. You can download it from the Wiard site.
