If it has a bypass switch then it needs a gain control.

If it doesn't have a bypass switch then it doesn't need a gain
control.

It's ridiculous to have one without the other. No one does that.

Since Moe claims 10 knobs and 2 jacks won't fit in 2U, perhaps they
should average out a band so it will fit in 2U.
<<<<

Jeesh, Mark. You are one fencepost-arguing son-of-a-Norm-Gunderson.

I don't 'claim' 10 knobs and 2 jacks won't fit in 2U. Matter of fact,
I have seen the light! Let's make a rule that everything has to fit
on 2U from now on.

So, here it is!!! Introducing the all new, MARK TECHNOLOGY MARK-450!!!

Hey Moe, I bet it could be done in 1U with smaller knobs!

The management wishes to apologize for that last email - it was tasteless
and showed little to no empathy, and more specifically, was not funny. The
appropriate individual(s) have been reprimanded.

We now return you to your regular programme.

Beautiful System 700 there. One of the best looking modulars around. I
think Roland was the only company to go through the trouble not to have
washers and nuts showing externally. It gives a cleaner more modern
appearance.

Speaking of pictures, I've made a career change and have now become a suicide
bomber. So as a warning, don't get on my bad side. And oh yah, "Death to
America" or something like that.

Was Norm Gunderson the guy who insisted that 6 knobs and 5 jacks couldn't
fit in 1U, or am I thinking of someone else?? :)

Well that sounds fair, Paul did ask for our opinion ;)

Now if you could move the words "IN" and "OUT" to the side or bottom of the
jacks, label the bands with each frequency, and change that to "Synthesis
Technology MOTM-450", that would be perfect :)

Besides, you should make a few of those panels in case I ever get a machine
to wind my own inductors ;)

It's just an expression. Check out the movie "Fargo".

Errr, you DO understand that the jack is right up against the pot,
and regardless of where you label it, it would get in the way when
you try to access the bottom knobs. Right? Regardless, Stooge Panels,
INC. would be happy to custom make a panel for you, as crowded as you
wish!

Moe, busily fitting SuperMoe into 2U as we speak

By "right up against the pot" do you mean that it would prevent it from
turning?? When you said "10 pots and 2 jacks WILL NOT FIT into 2U", did
you mean that literally, or did you mean they will fit, but you just don't
like the idea?? There is a huge difference.

Considering the size of the knobs, they would still be easy enough to set,
and 2U would be the most efficient design. Whether you would choose it or
not, 2U still should have gone on the poll.

-That is if you chose to leave of the bybass switch and I don't remember many people hoping for that one. I for one "Need" the bypass switch and "want" the gain pot so 3u was the only real answer in my opinion wink wink. It will be a welcome comprimise when it eventually comes out. Now if we can only get that inverted out or individual outs for high pass and lowpass to split and separate the signal through the module... yeah right.

You're a little behind in reading posts. These days you can't do are say
anything without offending somebody. You must not watch late night TV. As
soon as I get my waist bomb advertisement up on that 9/11 page (plenty of
offensive stuff about 9/11), then I'll be able to offend or amuse even more
people. I've been a bit of a hobbiest suicide bomber for several years and
it's great fun. If the pay is good I may go professional.

My current profession is in the US cavalry:

[OT] Wersi

2002-04-27 by Les Mizzell

> There's a sucker born every minute

Oh yea....

And if you go look on the Wersi site, the Galaxy is no longer in production.
There's newer improved models!

Listen to the cheezy demo sound files by Claudia Hirschfeld, who is a
competent "concert pop" organist. There's actually a lot of synth technology
packed into these things....they load Akai sound disk, built in HD
recording, full XG + GM standard.... About as much as your standard Yamaha
or Roland synth these days! (Don't get me started on that!) What? No patch
chords? No banana interface? Bah!

They seem to be the perfect "Boston Pops" type show organs good for any
hotel lobby or baseball field.

I've always been an organ purist myself. Was my secondary instrument in
college. Give me Bach and Vierne any old day. You've never heard anything
until you stomp the low C on a 64' Diapason stop! Not too many speakers out
there that can even reproduce that! Oooooo...... Military "disruptive sound
waves" stuff!
