control freak(out)

Once again, I seek the council of those with experience greater than my own-or maybe just with some extra time on their hand... I'm working on a touchswitch controller to provide CV and gates. Each touch pad will provide two continuous CV's (as long as your finger is on the plate), a gate voltage at the start of the CV, and a gate at the end of the CV when you finger is removed from the plate. So far, so good... This is where your opinions would help-certainly, it would be a simple matter to provide four separate outputs from each touchplate. Two adjustable control voltages, a leading edge gate and a trail edge gate. If I plan to use 12 touchplates, that's a lot of freakin' jacks, patchcords and etcetera! They would be wired in a way to be used separately or through only one set of jacks using a switching multiple set-up. My other idea was to subgroup the outputs. Perhaps three sets of four touchplates, each set providing the two CV's of a value determined by pots corresponding to a touchplate and a single leading gate and trailing gate. Lastly, I could just make the thing dirt-simple with two CV outs from all the touchplates (maybe even averaged if more the one switch is touched...)and one each of the on and off gates. Well, that was certainly verbose! What does the group think? Besides the obvious fact that I should get more sleep, that is. Chub
