Good pots for a cheap price

I just bought a nice stash of pots that are perfect for those DIY projects and especially great for Blacet conversions to MOTM format. They are 50K, linear Bourns Cermet square PCB mount pots. These are almost identical in size to the Spectrol 149/148 series, smaller than the large Blue Bourns pots that Paul normally uses. The big difference is that these are $1 each. All Electronics has about 300-400 of these in stock at that price. All is a surplus catalog. So, I doubt they will have these exact pots in the future. The All Electronics part number is PTB-50K. They also have Bourns 5K and 500 ohm pots, but those were of no interest to me. The only odd thing about these pots is the shaft is shorter than what we normally get on a MOTM pot. However, I have mounted them up on a MOTM panel, and attached both the standard MOTM knob and Cosmos Chicken beak and both work just fine. The shaft has a very slightly flatten side. But, that side is opposite the tightening screws for knobs, so it has no impact of fit whatsoever. Larry Hendry
