822 and 831 alternate construction wiring method

822 and 831 alternate construction wiring method

2002-02-13 by J. Larry Hendry

First off.. Shame on me for waiting so long to pass on a tip that was sent
to me by list member Al Wagner (I won't say how long). Al found that
connecting his rotary switches to the PCB first and then assembling
everything to the front panel was the best method for him. Since rotary
switch attachment is the most difficult part of 822 and 831 construction, I
am passing along Al's tip and photos on my regular 822 and 831 photos page.
Update links on my news page:

Thanks for sharing your experience and photos Al. My only comment is that I
might have tried to get by on shorter wires. :)

hello all,
on both my 822s & 831s i found that for me the far easiest way was to solder
the short wires to the PCB first, then fix the switches to the panel, then
solder the wires to the switches, using a meter along the way to check
finally the pcb is coaxed into place and fixed on the bracket
