PLEASE READ - Todd and 410 kits

PLEASE READ - Todd and 410 kits

2001-11-28 by J. Larry Hendry

First, let me make sure everyone knows that Todd's decision to make 410 kits
available has nothing to do with the Stooge panel project that Dave and I
have been working on for the last 1 1/2 years. Dave and I have a
partnership that does not include anyone else, regardless of how Stooge-like
they appear. But, like everyone else, I want to see the situation resolved.
So, if you have 410 kits on order from Todd, read on. If you don't, feel
free to delete, and accept my apologies for the bandwidth.

I spoke to Todd on the telephone today. I called him because I know some
things that I have not shared with the list and I wanted to help. Here is
what was learned and determined in that phone conversation.

The BAD news.
 - This is a tough time personally for Todd.
 - His dad is quite ill and will be going into surgery in the next couple of
days
 - He has been laid off from his job and currently has no lines on a new
job.
 - Since he has no job, he is moving out of his apartment in with a friend
to
save the rent money until he can get back on his feet.
 - Since he is moving, all his stuff is in boxes and I do not believe he is
getting
anyone's e-mail. He is also separated from his drill press and other tools.

Todd did not ask me to share this and may not be happy that I did. But, I
want the air to be cleared over this as I am not happy about the tone of
some of the mail I have seen on the subject.

The GOOD news:
 - Todd has everyone's 410 kits. He is missing perhaps one or two parts
that
have been on backorder and should be in this week.
 - Todd has no intention of ripping anyone off and understands why people
may be upset
 - I picked up a special order of brackets today that are more of a perfect
fit for the 410
kits so that no cutting will need to be done.
 - Todd is shipping me one of the 410 PCBs tomorrow. I will drill all of
the brackets
to fit the PCBs so that no one has to be concerned about that. Brackets are
required
as the Pots supplied are not mounted ON the PCB.
 - Todd will be ready to ship these very soon, assuming he gets his move
behind him
(this weekend) and his dad does OK. If things do not go well for Todd, we
have discussed
the possibility that I will meet him between our locations and I will pick
up ALL of the 410
stuff and ship it in case he cannot.

So, in case I do end up doing the shipping, please do the following favor
for me.
If you have a 410 kit on order from Todd, e-mail me privately and tell me:
1 - How many you have ordered
2 - How much you have paid
3 - Your shipping address.

We all have ups and downs in our lives. This is a down time for Todd. So,
he need
our thoughts and well wishes. Everyone will get their 410 stuff they have
paid for
as I will help Todd do whatever it takes to get them delivered.

This is the typically cool Stooge Larry reply and is much
appreciated. In case no one has noticed, and I'm sure everyone has,
Larry has potentially taken on work to help Todd out and in the
process help those of us waiting on the 410 kits.

Thank you, Larry!

You are welcome Mike. Todd is really having a tough go of it right now, and
feels as bad as anyone that the 410 kits are not delivered. So, helping him
just seems like the right thing to do. And I don't even want to talk about
waiting on these brackets from the metal shop. Sigh... Took them twice to
get it right.
Larry

P.S. I learned to sigh like this from Paul. :)
