greetings from an skb newbie

greetings from an skb newbie

2001-11-26 by sikorsky

hello all,
i seem to have expanded into two SKB pop up cases, and so now have a couple
of questions to pose for the SKBers amongst you:

1) any thoughts on mounting the rig 'upside down' so that the handle is
at the top

2) how the bloody hell does the lid hinge work, or isn't there one, or am
i missing something..?

3) anyone ever tried building a base so that you can have the case closed
/ vertical (in the studio for instance) without fear of toppling over - very
bad design that one...

4) oh don't worry, i'll come up with more

if there were any MOTMers in the Sheffield area, i'd say "come along to Star
On 23 (me) versus Chillage People on Weds 5th December at the Barfly /
National Centre For Popular Music"
ho hum

cheers
paul b

It is 'backwards' the way the handle is.

There isn't one. It seats into the ridge 'groove' of the bottom. The racks have to be pulled all
the way UP before you can lay them down flat. That one took me 3 days.

I have used small Quik-Lox 'X' stands used for speakers.

erm. when you popped the beast up, it would be upside down and rather
difficult to use. unless you were hanging upside down above it. which
would be *damn* cool. :)

the top of the lid just comes off. there's a hinge down by the handle. you
grab this little cloth tab at the "top" of the mounting rack and pull it
up to the angle you desire. it will go "click click click." to close it,
you pull it *all* the way forward and then press it back into the case.

well, it *was* meant to lie flat. :) what you'd probably need is like a
slot or something, where you drop it into this wooden (or whatever) frame
at home, keeping it closed and vertical, then taking it out to go places.

bleep.
out.
