OMS 820 Kit update

OMS 820 Kit update

2001-11-05 by Tentochi

Many people who wanted kits began ordering FPs directly from Larry.

Too eliminate any further confusion, I will NOT be providing OMS-820 kits.

You will need to acquire everything yourself including FPs directly from
Larry and PCBs directly from Tony.

This was too much of a hassle last time and the problems are already worse
this time.

Additionally, Dave basically copied Tony's design for the FP which allows
you to use Omeg pots and brackets. I proposed a design to Dave which would
have made the FP more logical, but Dave chose not to use this design. Dave
did not communicate with me as to why, but I assume it is to maintain
compatibility with the Oakley system. I personally prefer the MOTM
standard, so the Oakley placement was not applicable to the FP layout for
me. On the plus side, the Omeg pots and brackets make an L-bracket
unecessary and the LEDs will go on the FP directly from the PCB; this makes
for an extremely elegant design. And this also makes things a lot cheaper.
Make sure to also order your pots and brackets directly from Tony if you are
going to follow this path.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

Todd

Todd,
Where are you at with the OMS-410 kits? At this point I am ready to ask you to send "the parts you do have" and let me find the rest on my own. I am very frustrated with the time this has/is taking you to get these out and your lack of updates or communication in the meantime. On good faith I, among others, sent you payment in full and have received no kit as of yet. You have had the money, panels and pcbs for more than enough time to ship these out and I for sure would like to see or hear about mine soon. Thanks for your comments and response,
Thomas White

I sent plenty of extra metal to the painter to cover OMS-820s. So, if you
did not order a OMS-820 front panel because you thought Todd was going to do
kits, I am still happy to add one to your panel order if you like.

The metal did go to the painter today. So, we are still on the original
schedule I proposed when we started taking orders. However, I realized I am
crazy for going to the post office in December with this stuff. :)

Best,
Larry Hendry

OMS-410 KIT!

Hello Todd,

Obviously you don't appear to give a rats ass about
the fact I sent you $130 on good faith. I am very sad
and I hope you can find the time and resources to
provide the parts and panels you said you would. I
have the feeling I sent you the money for the kit
which you must have promptly spent on something and
now you will not spend your own money to make good on
the kits. Please let me know if I am out of line here.
At least that means I would get some sort of email
from you.

If you have no intention of providing the kits, please
be a man and say so instead of hiding out and not
responding to even one of the mails I know you have
received from those who payed you. I hope you come
clean soon my distant friend,

Thomas White

PS. MOTM guys: Please mail me privately if you sent
Tentochi any money for these kits. I want to find out
how many of you are in my situation. Too bad the other
Stooges vouched for Todd. That was my deciding vote
when it was time to send the money. Family problems
aside, there is no excuse for this lack of Kits or
communication.
