MOTM record release!

MOTM record release!

2001-07-09 by David Bivins

Well, Puffboy beat me to vinyl, but that's o.k. I'll get 'im later. ;)

Thanks to the redoubtable Peter Tang (fellow MOTMer), I have a record that's
just now becoming available at record stores worldwide. That's
right--record. Vinyl. Actually, this is one list that probably has a high
percentage of turntable owners, so maybe it doesn't sound so incredible.
Most of my friends are like "hey, so where can I get the CD?" Er, nowhere.
I'll burn one for you if you've proven that you bought the record, sucker.
;)

Bald Bastard - New Jackass City
label: Invisible Fish
catalog: INVFSH005

Anyway, the record has four tracks, most of which feature some or a lot of
MOTM Madness(TM). It's definitely not for everyone though. One of the tracks
I've boosted here before, and it's on my mp3.com site - called "Brent
Burket." (http://www.mp3.com/baldbastard). The other tracks are less quirky
than that one. One track, "Wounded," has a great, aggressive lead line built
from a MOTM-300 and 440. Another, "Blown," could be subtitled "Gratuitous
Filter Overload." The fourth track has little to no MOTM on it, so I won't
go into it here. There's very little subtlety on this record. It's just my
way.

Now go buy it so I can cover 2% of next month's mortgage!
