And now for something completely different.......

And now for something completely different.......

2001-03-04 by Paul Schreiber

Shemp stuffing LEDs up his nose.

Since I still have about 38 MOTM-110 VCAs left, and sales are sort of slow
(about 7 a month)

So.....
after the, 101, after the 830....
anybody want to see a Voltage-controlled Timbre Distortion module?

Paul S.

Very definitely!

Is the 830 the divider?

Get with the program, Barlow<g>! The 830 is the mixer we've been
yakking about all day!

No numbskull! The 830 is the mixer!

I would also rather see the previously mentioned modules released first.
I'm also more curious of the distant future multi-mode Xpander filter. Oh,
and the tracking generator (doh!). ; )

I agree wholeheartedly. The Dual VCA/panner/fader will be great for stereo
effects. It's more of a basic necessity than a "luxury" module like a
timbre modulator. Look at how many variations of VCA/panner/xfader Serge
sells - 7! That tells you something about the quantities possible.

Paul never mentioned doing a tracking generator. Jim Patchell on the Synth
DIY list is working on a generic PCB for one, and if it isn't what I want
then I'll probably build my own on one of Paul's MOTM proto PCBs. Expect a
minimum of 2U for such a module because of the pots. The Patchell one if
fully loaded (4 positive and 4 negative breakpoints) would be 18 knobs, or
5U (!).

I'd definitely go for it, provided it doesn't push out the release of the
other modules too much.

that sounds supremely cool, but i've got all kinds of crap running in and
out of my system right now... a dual vca would be very, very helpful...

bleep.

I need more VCAs but was holding out for the dual model. Please don't push
it back!

Amen! Don't push back the VCA!!! You know I decided against buying a second
110 at this point because of the looming dual VCA(s), Paul. I need it bad. I
got a hankerin' for it. I gotta VCA jones.

I mean, I'd get more 110s if they were 1U wide and didn't have the damned
ring modulator. ;)

Timbre distortion... feh! I have several--the 120, the 820, the 100... The
120 is obvious. Run audio through the 820 really hard. Run audio through the
100 and clock it with a fast LFO.

NP: The Wedding Present - Dalliance (not an analog synth in sight, but this
Albini-recorded stuff has plenty of timbral distortion!)

What's a 100??

Re: And now for something completely different.......

It's the collector's special limited edition of the MOTM-101, sold
only to the first 100 MOTM customers...
