hello all,
as coincidence would have it, i just finished my combined Oakley EG/VCA
after wiring the outputs back to front and making a cock up of my panel...
...anyway, see enclosed jpg
as the EG/VCA is an obvious combo, i normalled the EG outputs to the CV1
input on the VCA, the panel switch selects AD or AR direct to the VCA. both
modules are wired to work separately.
panel controls are (from the top):
Attack, Decay / Release, VCA Gain, CV1 Attenuation
on right:
AD / AR to VCA select, Gate LED
jacks:
Gate In, VCA In, VCA Out
AD, AR, VCA CV1, VCA CV2 (unattenuated)

a word of warning - triple check your panel measurements, cos with this
layout, based on the MOTM grid posted a month or so ago - my panel didn't
fit in my cabinet. your top PCB might want dropping down a couple of
millimetres

anyway - if you lost the CV2 input, and shifted the LED & switch a little,
there's certainly room for an LFO (unless of course you want to utilise the
"Slow or Slower" rate switch which i installed)

if you're thinking of sticking the LFO on there for some dedicated tremolo
(..?) why not put the LFO on a 1u panel with another VCA..? (cunning plan
takes shape...)

anyway - food for thought, got to get to work via our local (family run)
electronics shop, Bardwells
hence the well known Sheffield phrase, "A Bardwellian nightmare"
