I have a friend in Japan who worked at Namco and left about 6 months ago. While there he had the technicians modify an N64 MoBo to allow the controller to control MIDI signals in a wide variety of manners. The MoBo also does some LED trickery. Very impressive. And very inspiring. I snuck 2 pictures of the MoBo, but haven't scanned them yet. If anyone is interesting, I will move that up on my priority list. For those that are into "new" forms of music, the name of the band is Qypthone. My friend is the leader of the band in Tokyo and they are about to release their 3rd album on Happiness Records (http://www.happiness-records.com). Right after that, they will sign with Toshiba-EMI. Their style is known as Shibuya-kei. Other artists operating in a similar style are: Pizzicato 5, Fantastic Plastic Machine, Kahimi Karie, Arling and Cameron, DJ Dimitri from Paris, Laila France, Takako Minekawa, Cornelius and Towa Tei. Some closely related bands are Combustible Edison (now defunct), Supreme Beings of Leisure, Momus, Stereolab, High Llamas, Clinton, Supreme Beings of Leisure, Funki Porcini and more... And you HAVE heard some of this music and enjoyed it. You should didn't know what you were listening to. Cheers, Shemp > -----Original Message----- > From: ivancu@...
