That is an easy mistake to make, and easy one to avoid.  I did the same
thing myself because of confusion on ICs marked with the dot instead of the
notch (different IC though).  That was the only time for me having a MOTM
module not work perfect on first try.  Something Paul told me (another
thing obvious) that I never even realized is that the writing on the chips
are all the same direction too.  So, another last check before smoking your
favorite op amp is are they all facing the same so you can read the numbers
(as a last "did I screw anything up" before power up re-check).  So far, on
MOTM, Paul has made them all face the same way.
