so the noise is created by the input section of the filter
what happens when you adjust the input attenuators - can you tie it down to
one input only..?
--->Nope, the input knobs have no effect on the noise...

what happens when you adjust the resonance control - does that affect the
noise level..?
--->The res just acts normally, like turning up the res with any other
filter. The noise level stays put. Its as if I had noise going into the
filter.

is the noise pure white noise (like what comes out of the MOTM100) or is it
a rough modulating noise..?
--->The noise sounds pretty damn pure. Unwavering. Sounds white. Maybe a
little off white.. ; )

the module isn't now two spaces closer to an ambient noise source is it..?
(ie huge power supply / computer monitor / radio transmitter / ufo)
--->Yeah I moved the module 2 spaces closer to my 900ps. But this shouldn't
affect MOTM at all. And since then I've had it out of the rack and it still
hissed away...

that's all i can think of for the time being - hope it helps
--->Thanks.. Its on it's way to Paul. Im dying to know what happened.
