Re: Joysticks, 440, Nord Modular

dave, i don't have any power going to my pots, i'm using them as remote
versions of the pots on the front panel. my question: are you hooking +15
up to them? why?

for the trigger button, i lowered the voltage down to ~ 7.38v by taking a
friends recommendation and putting four 4.7k 1/2watt resistors in
parallel&serial as such:

            .----/\/\/\------.------/\/\/\/------.
ground ----+ ! +---- +15v
            '----\/\/\/------!------/\/\/\/------'
                             !
                             !
                            ~ +7.38v

i would still like to hear from the group: what is the best trigger voltage
to use?

so this is not verified yet, but here's my wacky wiring in full:

the trigger button has 2 contacts. on mine, both are hooked to the tip of a
1/4" phone plug. this gets plugged in to the jack on my preamp module with
the 7.38v (my resistors are soldered into a separate, unused portion of the
preamp's PCB). another switchcraft jack is wired tip-to-tip with this one
(so there are 2 jacks involved, mult'ed, if you will.): plug the phone jack
from the trigger button into one of them, and use a patch cord to send the
signal to a desired module.

there's probably an easier way, like mounting a 9v battery inside the
joystick, but this should be fine for me.
