Re: [motm] Re: Is MOTM/5U dead???

2017-01-08 by Paul Bower

I don’t go near Facebook (long story), but I probably spend too much time at Muff’s (mainly the 5U forum)

As an add on to Adam’s comment, I talked to the guys at Thonk last year about supplying PCB only options for some of their DIY offerings (it seems silly to me to buy a kit or panel kit and throw half of it in the bin) - they said it wasn’t worth it, because 5U for them is around 1% of their market

There is however a lot of stuff out there that’s 5U compatible so long as panels aren’t an issue
I feel a list coming on, as I’ve put a lot of DIY modules together in the last 18 months

Cheers
Paul

I just don’t have the discipline to not look (to see what new PCB etc./thing I could buy) so, I don’t use it. I guess I am missing out. Then again, the overconnection that the FB walled-garden promotes feels like death by a million mouse-clicks.
