Martin, Make sure you have a good soldering iron that has the proper tip temp, and that your tip is not worn out. Keep it cleaned with a wet sponge. Make sure you are touching the tip to both the pot leg and the pad at the same time to heat them both for a couple seconds before applying the solder. I don't have any trouble soldering pot legs on mine.
