The Serge provides the ground out the back of the power supplies. Connect that to any black ground jack on the 940. You only need one connection. They are all wired together on the 940. I don't know where modcan/Cyndustries have the ground jack, but guess it is on the power supply as well. All banana jack synths being shared across patches should also have their grounds connected together.
