It doesn't have much grit and grime. It doesn't oscillate with maximum resonance (same as the original yamaha design which it emulates, not a defect in the MOTM product). 510 ups: It can destroy any signal going into it. Think photon torpedoes at close range. Fabulous at mangling any waveform. 510 downs: It takes some time to learn it. It's rarely ever smooth. Reminds me of being tied up with rope and dragged behind a fast moving vehicle on a gravel road. I'd sum up it up as: do you want to be nasty or nice? Nice = 480 Nasty = 510
