I prefer the "free form" layouts as long as they don't get too wild.  All of
the Modcan B layouts look very sensible.  

FYI, there is a MOTM style knob from ALCOSWITCH that is just under 3/4" in
diameter, in addition to the smaller and larger knobs seen on the Encore
Frequency Shifter.
