I get most of my front panels/brackets from a local supplier (free shipping, via my car). For the last 4 years, the price has held steady, and delivery is 3-4 weeks. *Mostly* 3 weeks. I send over a order for nearly 400 panels, 50pr of rails and 300 brackets (not shabby). Here is what I get back, in a nutshell. a) delivery times are now 8-10 weeks b) Steel has gone up from 22 cents/lb to 68 cents/pound (3X!!!) The MOTM-19A rails and the brackets are steel (gulp). c) aluminum has gone from $1.22/lb to $1.64/lb (35% increase). So across the board, my front panel cost has increased $4/panel and the brackets about 80 cents. Rails went up $9/pair!!!! What does this mean to you, gentle reader? #1: I have pulled out 1/2 of all the available panels for use with assembled orders. #2: the kits that will NOT ship until I get more panels are: 101, 300. #3: kits with less than 10 panels left are: 190, 320, 800, 700 #4: rails are going to increase to $49/pr. Nothing I can really do about it. I guess I'll lose about $1800 profit, and the above kits will not ship until Sept. Wheee......... :( Paul S. crawling into bed
