I had 1 day to examine the Fenix last fall, and here are my findings
(*completely unbiased, of course*)

1) Uses 3-terminal 78xx/79xx voltage reulators. Sucks.
2) Said regulators bolted to black painted case (on rear), which Thermo 101
will say causes said regulator to turn into toast. Sucks.
3) Uses single-sided pc boards. Sucks.
4) Uses unsheilded bananas, with 1 master ground on the *rear* panel. Sucks
& sucks.
5) No mechanical support for pc boards. PCBs "dangle" from pot solder
joints. *Really* sucks.
6) 95% of circuits straight out of Electronotes. Sorta sucks.
7) Many "modules" have no control pots. Sucks.
8) Won't fit in SKB pop-up mixer case. Sucks.

What I liked

1) Nice sheetmetal/screening job. 1st rate.
