I agree with the fact that a 440 is your best next investment (although I haven't built mine yet) but you might find the following useful: I couldn't get the basslines I like from my MS20 by just using the lpf, it lacked bass. Putting the hpf cutoff on about 9 o'clock and the hpf resonance on about 3 o'clock added some serious bass to the sound. If two 420's behave exactly like this I think it's worth getting a second to get more bass, after you get a 440 and 490 :) Krimo -----Original Message----- From: foraxx [mailto:omgemag@...] Sent: zaterdag 13 december 2003 0:35 To: motm@yahoogroups.com Subject: [motm] Dual 420 filters I'm considering purchasing another 420 filter kit. Right now my only filter is a 420. With two of them you can get -24 dB/oct LP and HP responses and -12 dB/oct notch. Also you can duplicate the filter section of an MS-20 by running one high pass and one low pass in series. Parallel processing and stereo fx would be another bonus. Do you think it would be better to get a different filter, say the 490 or 440 in order to have a different character available or would it be more fun to have two 420s? Can anyone also possibly provide an audio sample of you just noodling about with two 420s.. I'd like to hear what sort of stuff is possible, especially when configured like the Korg MS-20 setup. Thanks for any info. -Jim Your use of Yahoo! Groups is subject to http://docs.yahoo.com/info/terms/
