I have a very specific way I do this.  I actually replace my scrubbing tooth
brush every 3 months.  Really!  Of course, the reason is that I install a
new tooth brush in my bathroom next to the tooth paste.  The new
"hand-me-down", gets passed over to module scrubbing duty.  I find 3 months
is the exact time needed to break one in to the correct stiffness for module
washing.
