I was just reading about the Alesis Air-Synth and thought that an air-module would make a good controller. Three CV outs (X, Y, Z) and three GATE outputs (also for X, Y, Z) with a configurable gate threshold. It would be very similar to having three MOTM-850s. The IR transmitter/receiver would not be mounted on the module, it would be plugged in just like a foot pedal so it could be positioned anywhere. Put the sensor on the ground and let animals sniff it to control your synth, or put a bunch of moths in a cage and let them control your synth. Or does the operator need to be warm blooded for the IR to sense them? Lots of possibilities. Way more fun than a joystick, IMHO.
