When the Real Audio streaming is working, you can get the Pacifica
affiliate in Houston, KPFT.  They have a long running Avant Garde
program, 11:00 pm to 1:00 am CST on Sunday evenings.  The host Scott
Somers plays music such as Subotnick, Ligeti, Reich, Cage, Stockhausen
and many others.  Fourth Sunday of the month is local musician's night
which tends to have a much younger crowd of electronic avant gardists
and experimentalists.

On a couple of stations here in LA during the 80s and early 90s. Our
Pacifica station used to carry a lot of great experimental/new music --
I used to listen and subscribe to those programs (they're all gone now).
One program even had the name, "Genesis of a Music."

I wish there was a place to hear that stuff now.
