My original design called for the interface to consist of 2 7U panels so that it could be laid out in a straight line, which I agree is the ideal layout. Here's a direct link to that design: http://www.hotrodmotm.com/images/addrgen.jpg It pulls the pulse switch matrix into the main module and is a more conventional design as a result. The downside is that I'm trying to fit everything BUT the pot matrices into a single row 16U wide. That leaves only 2U which would have to go to the counter module, with no room for clocks or a second counter module. Still, it's worth reconsidering. Thanks for the comments!
