This is an interesting observation. The 410 is about the most organic and subtle module in my rack. I don't think I can honestly say I get repeatable results from it either, but that's a good thing. I think it's because of the Vactrols, and their inherent variability. Here's a great way to use the 410: create a cool sounding patch and send its output to the input of the 410. Take Out 1 to hard left on your mixing board, Out 2 to Center, and Out 3 to hard right. Try Mix Out to center, too. Now, switch the 410 to DUAL REV mode. Play with the FREQs of each Vactrol, the DEPTH, RATE and SWEEP knobs to taste. Use the MIX OUT to add uncolored signal to taste. You can get everything from very subtle but warm stereo movement to really funky space effects. I have not had much luck in general synchronizing my MOTM rig to, say, MIDI clocks. I would love to be able to do that with the 410. Maybe someone could give us both a hint on how to accomplish this. BTW, the OMS-410 is a great addition. It does allow for separate control of each Vactrol plus you can get two LFOs out of it to boot. Recommended.
