Jeff I would see if you can get access to that fuse. It does sound like
loss of power to the transformer. Power switches can go dead like that
too.

With the unit OFF and unplugged from anything, measure the resistance of
the unit between one AC prong and the other. Turn the 'power on' switch
on and off and see if that makes a difference. You should get quite a
low value of resistance, less then 100R or so, when it is on, and very
high when it is off.

If you don't then it could indeed be the fuse or the switch... or worse,
the transformer.
