You don't need a pre-amp to properly interface line input with MOTM signal level. 10Vp-p is around 14dBu. If anything, you might need an attenuator to bring the level down to MOTM levels. However, one use for a MOTM pre-amp would be to use it with synthesizers and effects that produce a much lower output. >We're not talking about a mic preamp; the output of a mic preamp would go >>into the line input of the triple preamp to be further boosted, and then >>maybe used as a control voltage, or any kind of MODULAR craziness you >want. Just for sake of argument, can you name a mic-pre or front-end that can't produce 14dBu?? If you want to use audio as control voltage, then you would use an envelope follower, pitch-to-CV converter, or some other device.
