milter-greylist 4.2.3 and 4.3.3 are available

2009-08-13 by Emmanuel Dreyfus

Hello

Today I tracked down a nasty bug in the code that handle matching of
properties obtained from LDAP or URLcheck. There was a lot of
uninitialized pointers, I wonder how it could work so far.

So here are our updated stable and developement versions:

Stable version: 4.2.3
htp://ftp.espci.fr/pub/milter-greylist/milter-greylist-4.2.3.tgz
MD5 (milter-greylist-4.2.3.tgz) = e821a8a4527c1e313f21fe36dbde4a24

Changelog since 4.2.2:
Fix unallocated memory use for ldapcheck and urlcheck property matching
Fix off-by one bug in DATA stage filtering (Pascal Lalonde)

Developement version: 4.3.3
htp://ftp.espci.fr/pub/milter-greylist/milter-greylist-4.3.3.tgz
MD5 (milter-greylist-4.3.3.tgz) = 66198fb5364ea1fc628d6d577b821102

Changes since 4.3.2:
Fix unallocated memory use for ldapcheck and urlcheck property matching
Fix off-by one bug in DATA stage filtering (Pascal Lalonde)
Allow ACL override by ldapcheck clauses (Piotr Wadas)
Header for autowhitelisted messages bug fix (Attila Bruncsak)
Fix MX sync stop on config reload (Attila Bruncsak, Hajimu UMEMOTO)
Improve Debian startup script (Adam Katz)
Make SpamAssassin headers Sendmail-like (Petar Bogdanovic)

I just tried installing it, but it doesn't start up:

Aug 13 22:53:24 alita sm-mta[1916]: n7DKrOkx001916: Milter (greylist): local socket name /var/milter-greylist/milter-greylist.sock unsafe
Aug 13 22:53:27 alita milter-greylist: greylist: smfi_register: version mismatch application: 16777217 != milter: 2
Aug 13 22:53:27 alita milter-greylist: /usr/local/bin/milter-greylist: smfi_register failed

4.3.2 works fine.

Any ideas?

Regards,

Sebastian

It looks like a build problem, like if there was a mismatch between the
libmilter library, and the libmilter headers the milter-greylist binary
was compiled with.
