Factory Presets + Fixed Poly

Factory Presets + Fixed Poly

2006-03-15 by Manu

Hi all,

I've been experiencing some troubles trying to use the .wav and .mp3
files over the net to load the factory default presets on the poly. I
can hear even the sound disturbances due to the cassette rotation!

I had to use a lot of compression on the sound and even had to tweak the
pitch to be able to load them. Once loaded, to prevent similar future
problems, I've resaved the presets again. But, this time, instead of a
cassette, the poly was connected to a professional sound card. Now, I
have a crisp clean recording, with no sound and pitch disturbances, no
hiss, no nothing, 16 bits, 44khz. Comparing the old and new files in any
sound editor is scary. Now it loads in my poly with no problems. If this
could be useful to anyone, I would be happy to upload to the files
section on yahoo. I have some other presets that came with a magazine
some years ago, too.

Those files can be used on a MiniDisc, DAT, any type of portable music
player of your choice or your computer. My Poly loves the MiniDisc
option for sure :)

Btw, I'm very happy today, because yesterday I was able to fix my
Poly-800's Midi Input :) Needed a few travels to the local electronics
shop, but it's been worth the time.

Hi

I always have problem to load the factory patches, the process end with
an error message. I will be happy to try both of your .wav files. Can
you send it to me directly to my email adress, because I think the
files sections is full.
Thanks
Bernard

You can all grab a free working copy of new patches from the mp3 file
at the bottom of my Moog Slayer mod page:

Cheers

Hi Chris,

I'm not sure about what to think about this. The page says there are 64
new presets plus a new sequencer demo, but I can only load about half of
it, and the sequencer still contains the same it contained before
loading the recording. To add mystery, looks like the magazine presets I
already have are just those, but as with this mp3, mine doesn't have 64
presets.

Opening this mp3 in a sound editor shows that there are two recordings
in the file, but both load the same presets. Am i wrong? Anyone can load
64 patches from this file?

I'm very intrigued.

Btw, this recording was a bit difficult to load in my Poly. I needed to
edit it and make some tricks to be able to load it :)
