Good suggestion there (the battery). I had to replace the battery in my TSR24S recently (bascially the same as a 2101 with no preamp section) and that cured it. Had to do a hard reset after changing the battery.

Before the battery change it would only scroll the credits and then if I tried to change programs it would hang and corrupt chars similar to yours. Hard reset with the dead battery didn't help.

After the battery change its like new again. Batteries are cheap at Walmart.

Good luck!

Did you try a new battery by chance?

Hello again,
I replaced the regulators with no luck, with the new trio the unit
behaves exactly the same. I think it must be a bad contact somewhere
near the Z80, SRAM and firmware chips, because if I touch over these
chips with a finger and bend a little the PCB board, the unit hangs.

It can't be a corrupted settings issue because sometimes the unit
shows strange chars immediately after power on. I took two pictures:

What should I do?

Greetings and thank you again for your support.
