EXS 24 Logic Sampler Users Group

I'm interested in purchasing a midi controller for my audio 
software.  The top runner so far is Doepfer's Pocket Dial.  However, 
it uses incremental data input, not absolute data.  Does this present 
a problem when used with Logic Audio (to control faders) and it's 
audio instruments: EXS24 and ES1 (to control filters etc)?  I've 
gotten the impression that I would have to write a specific 
environment that changes the incremental data to absolute data.  Can 
anyone confirm this?  Is anyone else using a Pocket Dial with the EXS?
