RE: [exs] Is the new midi engine in 4.7 really working? EXS24 and ES1

Hi,
No luck here either. I disabled it in the first week. Playback timing all
over the deck.

Julie

G3 laptop 400, 756 mb ram, MAC OS 9.04, digigram VX pocket/ LAP 4.7/ EXS 24,
emagic MT4

I was just curious if the new midi engine in 4.7 really working for
everyone. I haven't had any luck with it at all, and I am having
disable it to get work done.......

I am using the following:

Mac DP533, 512mb ram
OS 9.1
LAP 4.7 (Griffin Imate and ADB Dongle - soon USB Dongle)
EXS 24, ES1, Waldorf Attack
Unitor MKII - via Griffin G4port(soon changing to USB)
MOTU 2408mkII

I am going to try and eliminate as many odd ball extensions as I
can, mainly Griffin ones. Any ideas, or are others having goofy or
totally beserk timing issues in trying to use the unified audio midi
engine in 4.7?

For me, the midi data , and the output sound do not corelate.......
everything goes haywire and locks up........switch back to the
classic engine, and all is well......

Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks
Techno.

Well, you can loop, transpose, alias Audio Instrument objects as
claimed, but MIDI performance is erratic. Mainly, I get dropped
notes or no MIDI being transmitted on playback at all until I hit
stop and then play a couple times. If you need to get things done,
turn it off.

Just fine here with new midi engine
Mac DP 500,512 mb ram
OS 9.0.4
Lamp 4.7 (Usb dongle)
Unitor MK II
MTP II (Stealth gee three)
Motu PCI 324 ( 2408)

Take care of some Vst plug-ins witch don't like MP mode.
Witch one ?
Try one after the other if possible :-/
Do you use OMS ?
(I *don't*!)
Or some Rewire extentions ?
Or Reason ?

You may have MMC active in the sync window. You should only be sending MIDI
beat clock and MTC (midi time control).
